  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni Can substitute with penne.
  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or plant-based crumbles.
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Shred your own for best melting results.
  • 1 cup milk Add more if needed to keep the sauce saucy.
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste Optional; can use ketchup instead.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Optional for added flavor.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and seasonings of your choice.
  4. Add the elbow macaroni, milk, tomato paste, and stir well.
  5. Cover and let the mixture cook until the macaroni is tender and the sauce has thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.

Notes

For variations, try adding cooked bacon, frozen peas, or mustard powder. Adjust the cheese type for different flavors.
