Cooking the Meat Layer

- Sprinkle flour into the mixture, stir, and let it simmer for a few minutes.
Preparing the Mashed Potatoes
- Boil the peeled and chopped potatoes until tender.
- Drain and mash the potatoes; mix in butter and milk until creamy.
Assembling and Baking
- Spread the meat mixture into a baking dish.
- Top with mashed potatoes, creating a textured surface with a fork.
- Optional: sprinkle cheese over the top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Notes
You can prepare Shepherd's Pie ahead of time and store it in the fridge or freeze it for later. Let it sit for 10 minutes after baking to cool before serving.
