Ingredients
  

For the salmon patties
  • 1 can canned salmon, drained You can remove bones if desired.
  • 1 large egg, beaten Acts as a binder.
  • 0.5 cup onion, finely diced Adjust based on preference.
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs Can substitute with crushed crackers.
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise Or Greek yogurt as a substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard Use your preferred type of mustard.
  • 1 pinch salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 crack black pepper Freshly ground is best.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Drain canned salmon and mash it in a bowl.
  2. Mix in the beaten egg, diced onion, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  3. Shape the mixture into patties, adjusting size to preference.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Fry the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Notes

Salmon patties taste even better the next day. Store leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in a nonstick pan for best results. Try different binders and herbs for flavor variations.
